First, I'd like to say that I still can't believe that it's been ten years already. On January 13th, 2007 UWA was born. What Jason probably didn't know at the time was that he was in the process of creating something that many rp'ers would remember not just years later, but a full decade later, and certainly longer than that. Jason created something that was special to many of us as not only was it a place where many of us got to share our love for wrestling, and roleplaying alike. It also gave us a chance to meet new friends. Which, I still to this day talk to Bryz, Soulja, Animal when he pops on, and every now and again, Jason. I'd like to get up with Tim, we don't hear from him at all anymore, but I'm sure we can all agree that he was one of the best here in the UWA.
I've gotten to know Jason, and he is without a doubt awesome human being. It was because of him that got me started here, I remember when I first heard about this place, I got a message from a wrestling game I was trying out called Virtual Online Wrestling, which was a crappy game by the way. I can't quite remember the username but it was either magnus or magnum something but, I believe that was Jason. Anyways, that user sent me a link and I came to the site, and of course, the rest was history. Fast forward to today, and not only do I still write, but I still rp. I give credit to Jason for that, because if it wasn't for him bringing me to the UWA when it was starting out, I wouldn't be here ten years later typing this blog out to you all.
UWA is obviously, a wrestling site that is different than all of the rest. I know someone could probably argue that statement when they come to this site, take one look at it, and say that it's dead but what they don't know is, it's not as dead as they think. Unlike most wrestling sites that die out, and are never to be heard or thought of again. Over the years, I've noticed quite a bit of our members coming back to this place that we call home, mention in the chatbox that they miss this place, and wish this place would reopen. I was one of those people, Bryz, Animal, and Margaman have also showed up and had their own share of words to say about UWA. Now, although this place may look like it may never reopen, I'm not going to lie and say that it won't. UWA has stood the test of time, after closing and reopening multiple times, so there is definitely a chance that one day, UWA may make a return. I know Jason is much more busy these days, as he has a life, but I know we will never forget the home he created for us, nor will we ever stop wondering, if there will be yet another chapter here in the UWA.
So, Jason, I dedicate this blog to you and to the very site that you created. I, here have brought it upon myself to speak out for each and every past and present UWA member, whether they are still here or not, would like to say Thank you! I would like to say, thank you for not only the memories that you gave us, but thank you for the friendships that you've started, thank you these 10 years. They may not have been consecutive as they were on and off, but 10 years is 10 years. UWA will always be our home, and I know regardless UWA reopens or not, I'll be checking back home to see if any of you are on, and for the memories. I know that at the end of the day, just like everyone else, I'll think of UWA and I'll think of Jason Jones, and I'll smile.
As for those that are unsure of the future of the UWA, like the saying goes in wrestling 'never say never' because you never know when Jason Jones and the UWA....might be back! #ThankYouJason! #TheBig10
Sincerely,
The Undertaker and the man behind the character, Charlie
